SBJ Facilities: U.S. Soccer reaches adulthood with new home as the U.S. Soccer Federation opened a $250 million, 200-acre Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in May. The first facility that brings USSF operations under one roof, it consolidates the federation’s sporting and business functions that had previously been split across the country. Located in Fayetteville, Georgia, the campus now employs 300 to 350 people, including Tom Norton, GM and a former IMG Academy executive. Designed by Gensler with HGOR landscape architects used at Augusta National, the modern yet subdued campus features buildings with wood tones, dark steel, and extensive natural light. Impact Development Management managed the project built by Brasfield & Gorrie. Accessibility is emphasized, including a power chair-charging room with 30 outlets for futsal and power chair soccer teams, and early indoor-field matches that avoided rain cancellations.
