Seahawks still winning off haul from Broncos from Russell Wilson trade
The Seahawks’ return to Denver marks their first visit to Empower Field at Mile High since the Russell Wilson trade, with the team still benefitting from the haul. On March 8, 2022, Drew Lock says Denver GM George Paton called him at home while he ate lunch, telling him the Broncos were trading for a quarterback. Paton didn’t tell Lock he’d be included in the blockbuster deal. Seattle received Wilson plus five draft picks: two first-rounders (2022 and 2023), two second-rounders (2022 and 2023), and a fifth (2022). The Broncos got Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick. Other veterans from Denver included defensive lineman Shelby Harris and tight end Noah Fant. Lock returned to Seattle in 2025 after stints with the Giants and backup roles, and he’s 29.
