Seven things Solak thinks: The Chiefs will trade for a receiver, Goff is a sleeper MVP and more

NFL Week 8 arrives with multiple division-shaping matchups, but the Kansas City Chiefs’ struggles are the focal point. After a 3-point output versus the Seattle Seahawks—only the second time in Patrick Mahomes’ career he’s been held to three or fewer—the offense posted major statistical lows, including 4.3 yards per play (148th of 153 starts) and a 34% success rate. The loss is tied to key absences: starting tackles Josh Simmons and Jaylon Moore, plus receivers Tyquan Thornton and Rashee Rice. The piece also points to broader context, including Simmons missing the entire season with back issues and Rice missing 27 of 43 games since 2024 due to injury or suspension.
