Soccer-Munoz's late strike earns Liverpool draw with Forest in Iraola's Anfield debut
Liverpool secured a 2-2 draw at Anfield against Nottingham Forest in Andoni Iraola’s first Premier League home game in charge on Saturday, with Victor Munoz scoring a late equalizer. The point extended Liverpool’s wait for a first league win of the season, leaving the Reds with two draws from their first two league matches under Iraola. Forest led 2-1 after Morgan Gibbs-White converted a 70th-minute penalty awarded when Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson fouled Neco Williams. Dan Ndoye opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a counterattack, and Alexander Isak leveled in the 60th minute. Munoz equalized in the 82nd minute on his first start, striking from the edge of the box off the crossbar. Liverpool’s result came despite a reported £446 million spending spree a year earlier.
