Golden State enters Game 6 of the WNBA Finals hoping to clinch its first championship, carrying a 3-2 series lead over the Atlanta Dream. Coach Natalie Nakase said the team is prepared for the 12:30 p.m. EDT tipoff (9:30 a.m. in California). The Valkyries’ momentum followed lineup changes after a 67-62 Game 4 win: Nakase inserted Tiffany Hayes and Kaila Charles, with Kayla Thornton and Cecilia Landalasini coming off the bench. That altered starting five produced a 64-55 win in Game 5. The brief also describes an early-morning watch party at Chase Center in San Francisco, a blockbuster trade sending Jeffery Simmons to Chicago from Tennessee, and Milwaukee closing schools ahead of the Brewers’ World Series parade Friday after a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay.
