Ted Lasso' S4 return recovers from bumpy start

Apple TV’s Ted Lasso returns this week after more than three years, with the first of 10 episodes—directed by Declan Lowney and written by Joe Kelly—available for review. The new season begins unevenly, as “Home” finds Ted still searching for his footing, though it quickly settles into a more familiar rhythm. Ted (Jason Sudeikis) is now coaching a women’s team, the fledgling Richmond Lady Greyhounds, in a setting that keeps the show’s underdog focus. Ted has moved back to Kansas City to share custody of Henry (Grant Feely) with ex-wife Michelle (Andrea Anders). Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and her lieutenants arrive offering him the job he hasn’t accepted yet.
