Terry Mohajir: Evaluation, belief key to UCF's Big 12 rise
Terry Mohajir said UCF’s rise into the Big 12 depends on evaluation, development, and belief, while praising the culture Scott Frost is rebuilding into Year 2 of his return. Speaking during UCF AD’s appearance with Marc Daniels on The Beat of Sports from Big 12 Media Days in Frisco, Texas, Mohajir discussed the league’s competitive balance and why he believes the conference can be “really good.” He pointed to how parity has shifted over time, citing major conference runs and the impact of NIL and roster movement in increasing balance. Mohajir argued that resources alone do not guarantee results and emphasized UCF’s rooted principles, including hiring strong people to support development. He highlighted Frost’s progress, noting Frost went 5–7 in his first season back, while describing “really good” engagement and diligence in the program’s evaluation approach. Mohajir also credited Trent Mossbrucker, the new GM, for evaluation-focused work.
