Texas Needs to Bench Arch Manning Before He Sinks Steve Sarkisian | Deadspin.com

Texas has slipped rapidly from No. 1 expectations after consecutive 27-24 losses to unranked Oklahoma and Florida, and the Longhorns are now one defeat away from likely missing the College Football Playoff for a second straight year. With three remaining games against ranked opponents starting with No. 7 Ole Miss, Deadspin argues the coaching staff needs to change its quarterback approach by benching Arch Manning. The piece says Manning has fueled late-game problems through turnovers in the last two losses, posted 1,295 yards and 11 TDs in six games, and thrown five interceptions. It also points to a decline in rushing production.
