Texas rises to No. 1 in AP poll, Ohio State and Oregon tumble and Michigan returns to the Top 25

Texas surged to No. 1 in the AP Top 25 after completing a historic fourth-quarter comeback to beat Ohio State 24-23, pushing the Buckeyes out of the top five for the first time in two seasons. Oregon dropped 15 spots to No. 21 following its 39-31 road loss to Oklahoma State, which had lost just 21 straight against FBS opponents before that result. Michigan returned at No. 19 after a 17-10 win over No. 11 Oklahoma, and Oklahoma fell to No. 24. Texas received 56 first-place votes and sits atop the regular-season poll for the first time since Oct. 13, 2024.
