The best NFL rookies after seven weeks: We ranked the top 10 and answered five big questions

ESPN Research says rookie quarterbacks have had limited exposure early in the 2026 season: through Week 7, they logged 308 snaps, the fewest since 2007. Tampa Bay’s Jalon Daniels is the only first-year QB to have started so far, with three starts—the lowest at this point since 2007—before handing the starting job back to Baker Mayfield. Because of that, ESPN’s debut top 10 rookie list contains no quarterbacks. Instead, the ranking through Week 7 reflects standout rookies at other positions, based on polling of Matt Bowen, Kalyn Kahler, Jeff Legwold, Jordan Reid and Ben Solak.
