In 1988, Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me” held at No. 3, while in 1999 Pearl Jam’s “Last Kiss” sat at No. 3 after reaching a peak of No. 2. Several cultural developments followed, including Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled album topping the Billboard 200 and earning 9x Platinum certification from the RIAA for US sales above nine million. In 1990, Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was fired and replaced by Matt Sorum. In 2000, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich testified in the Metallica vs. Napster case.
