Two teens rescued after kayak deflates in latest Snake River incident in East Idaho

Two teenagers were stranded on a cliff above the Snake River near Ririe after their inflatable kayak snagged on trees, deflated, and dumped them into the water. Bonneville County sheriff's deputies launched from the Byington Boat Ramp around 8 p.m. after receiving a call that the youths had separated from a larger group floating the river. Deputies located the pair just after dark, stranded on a rocky cliff near the Fullmer boat access, shoeless, soaking wet, and extremely cold; they were wearing life jackets, which likely saved their lives. No significant injuries were reported, but conditions remain hazardous.
