Uefa awaits answers about Infantino as deadline looms
UEFA says it is still waiting for FIFA to answer a batch of questions linked to Gianni Infantino’s presidency, with only hours left before a November 2 response deadline. UEFA general secretary Theodore Theodoridis wrote to FIFA counterpart Mattias Grafstrom on October 19 outlining 42 areas where clarification was sought for European Council members. Topics include Infantino’s abandoned plan to seek private investment to run World Cup commercial affairs, documentation tied to the disciplinary case involving Folarin Balogun, and requests for assurances over potential conflicts of interest. The Press Association reports no reply has arrived. FIFA said it intends to respond but won’t comment publicly on confidential Council documentation; the FIFA Council meets again December 16.
