UFL open to players caught in NFL, college limbo

The UFL says it’s open to players stuck in NCAA or NFL eligibility disputes, offering them a path to keep playing professionally. In comments to Front Office Sports, UFL co-owner Mike Repole said the league wants “college players that can’t make the NFL” to land in the UFL. The UFL told Front Office Sports that former Ole Miss players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris would be eligible for the 2027 season, starting in April. Both went undrafted this spring, spent time with NFL teams, then tried to return to college with LSU. Legal protection tied to a Louisiana lawsuit left them unable to play this fall, while LSU kept them off the roster during separate litigation. The NFL barred both from 2026 team activities, though 2027 NFL opportunities remain open.
