Ukraine's Zelenskiy: Russia wants to bring in 30,000 North Korean troops to conflict reports a new warning from President Volodymyr Zelenskiy about Russia’s potential military cooperation with North Korea. On July 25, Zelenskiy said Russia wants to bring in an additional 30,000 North Korean troops for its conflict against Ukraine and that Russia is already preparing to receive them. He cited a mutual defense pact in which North Korea sent an estimated 14,000 soldiers to Russia’s Kursk Region in 2024 to help repel a major incursion by Ukrainian forces. Zelenskiy also said preparations have been underway since June in Russia’s Voronezh region and that North Korea is preparing to supply new ballistic missile launchers. He warned this would be a threat beyond Ukraine, including for countries in Asia within range of North Korean missiles.
