UNC Football Players To Monitor Closely in Fall Camp
North Carolina’s fall camp is underway as the Tar Heels prepare for their season opener on August 29 in Dublin against TCU. Coach Bill Belichick begins his second year while continuing a rebuild that mixes veterans, transfers and about 40 true freshmen. With Week 0 approaching, the focus is on minimizing off-field drama and sharpening football execution. A standout could be JacQawn McRoy, a 6-foot-8, 335-pound right tackle and former four-star recruit who follows offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino to Chapel Hill. Quarterback Travis Burgess, limited in spring due to injury, is also watched for the Week 0 starting job competition. Edge rusher Joseph Mupoyi is another name to monitor, especially alongside transfers Donovan Hoilette Jr. and Jaylen Harvey.
