URI football favored to lead CAA again in preseason poll reports that the University of Rhode Island will start the 2024 football season as the clear favorite to keep the Coastal Athletic Association title. In the coaches’ poll released Wednesday morning, the Rams captured 12 of 13 first-place votes. The team also had 10 players named for all-conference recognition, including seven to the first team and quarterback Devin Farrell as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Bryant was picked ninth and placed one player on the all-conference first team, with kick returner Keylijah Williams highlighted for kickoff returns. The Rams enter in a “golden age,” returning 15 projected starters after consecutive 11-3 seasons and a league record of 15-1 over the last two years, while the 2025 campaign ended with a 47-26 loss to UC Davis that snapped a seven-game streak.
