Victoria Monét said she won’t be bothered if fans label her upcoming album a “comeback,” despite a three-year gap since her Grammy-winning “Jaguar II” in 2023. In an Associated Press interview, the three-time Grammy winner framed the delay as a normal part of creating music and described returning Friday with “Frequency of Love,” a 22-track studio project. The rollout includes “Reach Out,” “Juicy” and “Let Me,” the latter already topping Billboard’s adult R&B airplay chart. The album also features Bruno Mars and SZA, plus Bryson Tiller, Leon Thomas and Chlöe Bailey. Monét said she aimed for Michael Jackson-style risk-taking, using interpolations of classic ’90s R&B.
