Washington Huskies Get Positive Updates on Several Ailing Players
The Washington Huskies earned their first Big Ten win of the season, beating Purdue 38-26, despite entering the game with 10 players out and additional injuries during the contest. Several key absences included third-year quarterback Demond Williams Jr. and sixth-year wide receiver Christian Moss, both sidelined with injuries suffered earlier this season. Others were listed as doubtful or out, including defensive tackle Kai McClendon and running back Ansu Sanoe. After Friday’s game, coach Jedd Fisch provided updates: running back Trey Cooley suffered an AC sprain in his shoulder but is expected to return this week. McClendon missed the game due to a flu bug, as did Sanoe, and both were expected back for practice this week. Additional players—Fruean, DeSean Watts, and Williams—were monitored for the Oct. 31 matchup against Nebraska.
