Washington Women's Basketball Appears in Preseason AP Top 25 Poll

The Washington Huskies women’s basketball team will open the 2026-27 season ranked No. 16 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, the first time they’ve entered a season ranked during Tina Langley’s tenure in Seattle. Washington’s previous peak ranking was No. 15 in 2016-17 under coach Mike Neighbors. The Huskies reached the Sweet 16 in that campaign and reached the Round of 32 last season, losing 62-59 in overtime to TCU. Langley has rebuilt the roster using veteran transfers, including Tilda Trygger (NC State), Brooke Carlson (Colorado State) and Macey Huard (Oklahoma State). Returning leaders include Sayvia Sellers and Avery Howell, who averaged 18 and 14.2 points per game in 2025-26.
