White Sox rumors: Ex-GM says Jose Urquidy won't be Chicago's only deadline trade

With the Chicago White Sox reportedly performing well heading into the trade deadline, former MLB general manager Jim Bowden believes the team is far from done after acquiring Jose Urquidy from the Pirates. Bowden said the White Sox are “buying” and are looking for three categories: another starting pitcher, a catcher—citing an injury to Kyle Teel that could keep him out for more than a month—and an additional bullpen arm. He noted that top rotation targets such as Tarik Skubal, Joe Ryan, or Casey Mize could be ideal, but since they play in the AL Central, division trades are less likely. Bowden also pointed to New York Mets catcher Luis Torrens as a possible cost-effective option, praising his offense alongside solid defense.
