Who backs up Bo Nix and five other Broncos questions for preseason opener vs. Falcons

Bo Nix won’t play in the Denver Broncos’ preseason opener Friday night against the Atlanta Falcons, despite being healthy, as Sean Payton said Nix has been a full participant in training camp but will sit until next week. With Nix out, Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger will run the offense while offensive coordinator Davis Webb calls plays. Payton expects most healthy starters to play about 15 snaps, but several key offensive names are questionable or likely to sit, including receivers Jaylen Waddle and Marvin Mims, center Luke Wattenberg, and line reserves Alex Forsyth and Alex Palczewski. The game at 5 p.m. ET also puts the QB2 battle and rookie evaluations in focus.
