César Gastélum, a 25-year-old Mexican TikTok influencer with nearly 600,000 followers, was shot dead while livestreaming outside a KFC in Culiacán, Sinaloa, during a delivery-themed broadcast. Authorities say he was killed on Tuesday, 4 August, around 8:00pm local time. The attack was captured in footage circulating online: two helmeted men on a motorcycle approached the group, and the driver fired a handgun before fleeing. Gastélum’s final livestream was with fellow creator Alejandro Fierro and two friends; they reportedly wore orange clothing and carried backpacks resembling delivery riders. Sinaloa security confirmed his death, and federal and local authorities launched a security operation, though no arrests had been announced.
