WNBA offseason 2026: What's next for Liberty, Aces after semifinal sweeps?

With the WNBA semifinals producing two sweeps, the league is nearing its next championship weekend—after the Las Vegas Aces’ season ended with an overtime loss followed by a semifinal sweep by the Golden State Valkyries. Friday’s other matchup also determined that New York Liberty would face Atlanta Dream, with both New York and Las Vegas joining Dallas Wings, Indiana Fever, Minnesota Lynx, and Washington Mystics among eliminated teams. For the Aces, key 2026 roster questions center on free agency and draft flexibility heading into 2027. The draft lottery, typically in November or December, will set the No. 1 pick. Free agency in 2027 may be especially active, and the Connecticut Sun will relocate to Houston.
