Women's college soccer rankings after Week 8: Updated IWSOC Soccer Coaches Poll

Several of the top teams in the IWSOC Coaches Poll stumbled in Week 8 as major upsets reshaped the rankings. No. 2 Michigan State lost 2-1 at Purdue after Irene Campo scored in the second half, breaking a 1-1 tie. No. 5 Alabama fell 1-0 to Florida, with Lena Bailey’s 89th-minute goal deciding it. No. 7 Baylor was routed 3-0 at No. 24 Colorado, ending a nine-game unbeaten run. North Carolina did not play due to a postponement of its scheduled game against Florida State tied to Hurricane Isaias’ projected impact. The latest poll keeps North Carolina first, followed by Vanderbilt, Ohio State and Wake Forest.
