World changed forever': Family, fans in shock after Kiwi influencer's death

A popular Kiwi influencer known as “the hunter-gatherer” behind “Blokes Can Cook Too” has died unexpectedly, prompting shock among family, fans, and fellow creators. Joel Yukich, a father of four boys based in New Plymouth, died on Tuesday, at age 35. His Facebook page had 115,000 followers and his Instagram account had 14,000, with him best known for videos documenting cooking and hunting. Stef the Maori said he understood Yukich had suffered a heart attack, while others awaited autopsy results. Yukich’s partner, Alanna Hussey, posted that her “world changed forever” and described him as an outstanding dad and partner. A Givealittle page raised funds for a celebration of life, and his sister Carlie Yukich said he built a circle of friends who traveled for hunting and fishing adventures.
