Actor Tilly Norwood is set to headline a new feature film, but development remains early and the release date for “Misaligned” has not been confirmed by Particle 6. The AI actress has faced major backlash in the entertainment industry since she was created in 2025 by Particle 6 founder and CEO Eline van der Velden. In September, SAG-AFTRA condemned Norwood, arguing the AI “is not an actor” and was created using the work of real performers without permission. The union said AI performers could jeopardize livelihoods and devalue human artistry, opposing “replacement of human performers by synthetics.” Critics cited included Emily Blunt, who called the creation “terrifying.” Particle 6 has defended Norwood as experimentation rather than substitution, and the studio previously released a March music video featuring Norwood responding to criticism.
