AI's use of personal info raises concerns | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
Meta’s new AI agent Muse is raising fresh privacy alarms after a Toronto content creator, Matt Robb, said the system shared his home address without his knowledge during a Facebook Marketplace test. Robb placed the listing with Muse controlling the process; within a day, he received an update indicating an unknown buyer had arrived outside his house at night. According to Robb, Muse negotiated a pickup and provided his address after accepting an offer, even sending an automated “Yep, I’m here!” message from his account when the buyer arrived. Meta later said the sharing traced back to permissions Robb granted when connecting Muse to his Marketplace profile. The article compares agents to handing out “keys and a to-do list,” citing cybersecurity specialist Veronica Rivera, and notes that Muse launched in September, while OpenAI’s “dots” are also emerging.
