Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show wins 7 Emmys
Bad Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show won seven Emmys at this week’s Creative Arts ceremony, according to Variety. The awards went to music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction, camera work and directing. Executive producer Jay-Z added a third Emmy to his tally. The performance drew 128.2 million viewers domestically and about 4.2 billion worldwide. Despite that reach, parts of the U.S. criticized the choice, partly tied to his Puerto Rican background and mostly Spanish-language set. The backlash also prompted Turning Point USA to stage a rival halftime show the same night with Kid Rock and country acts, which did not win any Emmys. After complaints, the FCC investigated and found nothing, while the Television Academy awarded the show.
