xCruzo Brief
Britons say they save about six hours a week—equivalent to 13 days a year—thanks to smartphones and other household gadgets, according to a survey of 2,000 adults. Respondents reported relying on an average of seven devices, with smartphones ranked the biggest time-saver at 42%. Washing machines (32%), online banking (28%), email (23%) and air fryers (22%) followed. The study also found nostalgia for older tech: 46% of Gen Z have never used VHS, 19% have never heard of a floppy disk, and 49% struggle to imagine waiting for songs on the radio. The research was commissioned by Smart Energy GB alongside a push for households to book upgrades to older smart meter hardware.
