Claude Fable 5 Is Free Until 22 June and Here Are 7 Things You Should Try Before Anthropic Starts Charging

Anthropic has released Claude Fable 5 as its most capable public model to date, with a free access window running until 22 June. The launch, on 9 June 2026, marks the public debut of the Mythos-class technology after cybersecurity fears kept it private. The free access applies to Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans through the cutoff, after which usage credits rise to 10 per million input tokens and 50 per million output tokens, roughly double the rate of Opus 4.8. Anthropic asserts that Fable 5 outperforms any model previously released publicly, and highlights seven use cases to demonstrate its capabilities. Among the examples are running hours-long coding tasks, turning screenshots into working apps, senior-level financial analysis, rapid dense research, finishing a Pokémon game from screenshots, self-checking outputs, and extracting data from messy PDFs. Guardrails and deadlines accompany the release, with staged access to balance demand and safety concerns for sensitive areas such as cybersecurity, biology, and chemistry.
