Cold case squad 'haunted' by unsolved disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh
xCruzo Brief
Cold case detectives say they’re still “haunted” by the 1986 disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh, with the case expected to be moved into an “inactive phase” in 12 months. Lamplugh, a 25-year-old estate agent, left Sturgis and Sons in Fulham, west London, at 12:30pm on 28 July 1986 and never returned. Detective Chief Inspector Teresa Foster said that even with the prime suspect now dead, the team’s priority remains “bring Suzy home.” Her car, a white Ford Fiesta, was later found abandoned in Stevenage Road. Lamplugh was declared presumed dead in 1993. The inquiry has been the Met’s only case still using a card index system from the 1980s.
