Coleg Cambria leads responsible AI drive with sector-first pledge | FE News
Coleg Cambria has launched an AI Pledge to help staff and learners feel confident as artificial intelligence takes a bigger role in education, training, and the workplace. The college says the pledge commits to using AI ethically, responsibly, and inclusively, while keeping human judgement, expertise, and relationships central to decision-making. Developed under Cambria’s broader digital innovation strategy, the framework is described as among the first of its kind in Wales’ further education sector and intended as a best-practice model for the UK. The pledge is built around five principles including enhancing human capability, ethical and safe use, human oversight, accessibility, and ongoing skills development. The college cites early examples such as AI tools that interpret email tone and summarize complex reports, and classroom use of NotebookLM to create interactive study resources, alongside wider commitments to social partnership and staff engagement.
