Commissioners approve abatement for Alvarado concrete plant
The Johnson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved a tax abatement request for Locke Solutions during a meeting on Monday. The company, located at 602 CR 607 near Alvarado, manufactures and sells precast concrete products. The approved abatement is 35% on new improvements, runs for three years, and begins Jan. 1. Locke General Operations Manager Adam Bergman told commissioners that the planned project involves $17 million to $20 million in improvements and investment at the Alvarado plant and is expected to create 90 new full-time jobs. Locke’s new facility will be built on 24 acres with about 30,000 square feet of manufacturing buildings, with partial operation targeted by the end of next year and full operation by the first quarter of 2028.
