Confusing repairs? Foreign menu? Your iPhone camera app just got a lot more helpful

Apple’s Visual Intelligence, introduced on iPhone with iOS 18 and initially limited to certain models, is getting a more prominent role in this year’s software update. After being exclusive to the iPhone 16 series at launch in 2024, support expanded to iPhone 15 and later to newer devices, including the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The feature has now been “baked” directly into the main Camera app in iOS 27, replacing hidden entry points with a new Siri tab and interface. Point the camera at an object to ask Siri for explanations, or tap to start a chat and get info from connected apps.
