Costco brings back a beloved chocolate chip after 2 years

Costco has started bringing back its Kirkland Signature Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips to stores nationwide, returning a product that was discontinued about two years ago. The red, dairy-based bag is the first to reappear; the dairy-free blue bag is not yet confirmed, with availability varying by location. Costco said the chips were pulled due to higher cocoa prices that made the Kirkland option harder to keep competitively priced. During the gap, Costco stocked Nestlé Toll House chips instead, which many loyal customers disliked. Reported prices for the 4.5-pound bags range from just under $12 to just over $13, up from roughly $8 in 2021.
