Dad traveling with family charged with inappropriately touching teen stranger

A 48-year-old man, Jonathan Alan Lefman of Newton, Massachusetts, was convicted last week of one count of abusive sexual contact while in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States after a three-day trial. Federal prosecutors say Lefman, traveling on a JetBlue flight in August 2024 from Puerto Rico to Boston, repeatedly touched a 17-year-old girl’s buttocks by working his hand between the back and bottom of her seat, despite her lack of consent. The release said the victim recorded video with her cell phone while seated on the jet bridge, and a family member reported the conduct to a JetBlue supervisor after showing the video. Sentencing is set for Jan. 12.
