Daily multimodal AI use in Malaysia projected to hit 43% by 2030 -- Ericsson
Ericsson’s ConsumerLab research projects that Malaysia’s daily use of multimodal AI will reach 43% by 2030, above a global estimate of 30%. Multimodal AI combines text, voice, images and video, and Ericsson says rising consumption across devices and locations will increase demand on mobile networks. The report links Malaysia’s expected uptake to the availability of connectivity through Digital Nasional Bhd’s (DNB) 5G network, including 5G Advanced capabilities, which Ericsson says can support more consistent performance and predictable response times. Ericsson’s analysis also describes “AI super users” who represent 35% of AI use today and may drive more than 80% by 2030, with faster response times heavily influencing satisfaction. The study adds that sharing images, video and voice could raise upload traffic, especially in busy urban areas.
