New York has extended the deadline for farmers to apply for grant money intended to offset costs tied to federal tariffs. The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets says applications for the $30 million Agricultural Resiliency Against Tariffs Program are now due Tuesday, August 18, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. The funding is meant to help compensate New York producers for rising costs and market losses they faced in 2025 because of federal tariff policy. Payments are direct, ranging from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $25,000, with distribution split into two tracks: cow dairy farms, and livestock/livestock products, specialty crops, and aquaculture. Applicants must meet income and in-state production requirements and provide certified data and a substitute W-9.
