Did AI tell Texas to go for it on failed fourth down vs Florida? Longhorns' AD says no

Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte says an AI platform didn’t “tell” the Longhorns to attempt a failed fourth-down play in their Week 7 loss to Florida. The controversy began after a Friday Oct. 23 report from the Austin American-Statesman cited Del Conte calling the decision “a pivotal embrace” of AI. On the play, coach Steve Sarkisian went for it on fourth-and-2 from Texas’ 47, down three with about 8:30 left, but Arch Manning was dropped for a three-yard loss. Texas lost 20-17 and suffered a second straight defeat.
