Dolby Vision 2 Lands on Hisense TVs: Buying Samsung or Hisense Now Picks Your Streaming Tier
xCruzo Brief
Hisense has started rolling out a Dolby Vision 2 firmware update for select 2026 TV models, starting August 6—positioning them as the first consumer sets to run Dolby Vision 2 on in-home hardware. The update targets Hisense’s 2026 UX, UR9, UR8 and U7 series (with “U7 Pro” in Europe, Middle East and Africa and Central and South America), on both Google TV and VIDAA platforms across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Two days earlier, Samsung and Prime Video announced HDR10+ ADVANCED for Samsung’s 2026 lineup, with Prime Video as the first streaming service to carry it. No 2026 TV supports both Dolby Vision 2 and HDR10+ ADVANCED, splitting viewers by brand and streaming library.
