Don't want this happen to anyone else' - Woman waiting for £6,000 from art dealer
xCruzo Brief
Brooke Townson says she is still waiting for £6,000 from an art dealer nearly three years after a tribunal ruled in her favor over unpaid wages. Townson, 22, filed a claim against Michael Vincent Bentley, connected to Maison Interiors in Clitheroe, after being left out of pocket following her work as a gallery assistant and graphic designer. Tribunal documents showed “unauthorised deductions” from her wages and ordered Bentley to pay £6,261.50. Despite the judgement in 2022, she has received nothing. Bentley told the tribunal he had submitted supporting documents, but a search of electronic and postal records found none. Townson described discrepancies and said she quit in September 2022, taking the case to the tribunal.
