G.Skill Flare X5X Launches: 15% Gaming Gains for Non-X3D Ryzen, Almost Nothing for X3D Owners

G.Skill says it has begun shipping the Flare X5X series on August 31, 2026, the second retail entry in AMD’s EXPO Ultra Low Latency ecosystem. The headline change isn’t a higher DDR5-6000 speed, but a move to much longer DRAM refresh intervals, extending the tREFI value to about four times the standard EXPO profile. Independent testing cited by G.Skill’s announcement indicates non-X3D Ryzen systems can see roughly 7% to 15% more gaming performance at 1080p depending on the title. For Ryzen X3D owners, it offers near-zero gains in most games, making the audience match crucial.
