Giant Anthropic files for an IPO that could break records
xCruzo Brief
Anthropic, the company behind the widely used Claude AI models, filed final paperwork with U.S. regulators on Monday for an IPO under the ticker symbol ANT. Analysts expect the offering could value the firm between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion, putting it in the same valuation range as Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which was valued at about $1.8 trillion when it listed in June. The Form S-1 public filing did not disclose share count or pricing. Launched five years ago by a breakaway team of OpenAI researchers led by Dario Amodei, Anthropic is OpenAI’s biggest competitor, but has faced controversy, including a reported conflict with the Pentagon. The IPO could happen as soon as November amid volatile AI-sector sentiment.
