Glenn Mains Appointed Chief Information Officer in St. Mary's County
St. Mary’s County Commissioners (CSMC) appointed Glenn Mains as the new Chief Information Officer to lead the County’s Information Technology Department. Mains will assume the role effective July 27, 2026. The appointment comes after more than 30 years of information technology experience, including over two decades in executive leadership within local government, covering enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications development, and technology modernization. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer and Associate Director of Enterprise Architecture for Prince George’s County Government, directing enterprise technology strategy supporting more than 30 county agencies. CSMC Commissioner President Randy Guy said the combination of experience and commitment makes him well-qualified to guide the department’s innovation and operational excellence. Mains holds degrees including a BS in Information Systems, an MS in Computer Management, and an MBA in Finance.
