Google is launching a one-stop Gemini agent for your work tasks

Google announced a “universal” Gemini agent designed to work across apps and devices in the background. Revealed at the Gemini at Work event on Thursday, it will be available inside the Gemini Enterprise app, letting users chat with the agent and assign tasks from a single interface. Google says the agent can operate directly in Workspace apps including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar, and can also be used from mobile, desktop, web, and third-party tools such as Slack or Microsoft 365. Running in the cloud, Gemini will retain context across connected devices, and it can use job-specific sub-agents. Access is currently limited to enterprise customers in private preview.
