Great Barrington man dies rock climbing on Appalachian Trail

A Great Barrington man died Thursday after falling while rock climbing on the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut, according to state officials. Collin Salmon, 30, was hiking near St. Johns Ledges when he fell Thursday afternoon, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. Salmon was taken to New Milford Hospital, where he later died, per a department news release.
