Hackers Linked to Iran Claim to Have Infiltrated FBI Drone Network

Handala, an Iran-linked hacker group, claimed on Friday to have breached the FBI's drone surveillance network and threatened to use FPV drones in a World Cup attack. SITE Intelligence Group relayed the claim, which included images and videos claimed to be from hacked drones. The FBI rejected the assertions as fabrications, saying authorities remain vigilant to protect World Cup venues. Handala, also known as Handala Hack Team or HPRF, is linked to Iran's MOIS and has a track record of cyber activity and alleged attacks.

The Handala statement claimed ongoing monitoring of 'every image and every suspect' seen by FBI FPV drones for months, accompanied by sample media it said came from the hacked devices. SITE noted that some of the footage appeared to be older public-domain material. The FBI urged reliance on official sources. The group has boasted of other operations, including a 2025 claim of penetrating Iran International's internal communications.
