Heat Lack Ammo To Land Kyrie Irving In Dallas Trade

Miami’s loud Kyrie Irving trade chatter won’t turn into a deal because the Heat lack the assets Dallas would require. ESPN insider Shams Charania said Wednesday on the Pat McAfee Show that Miami is “monitoring” Irving, but can’t make the offer work without giving up the kind of draft capital and additional players the Mavericks would demand. The Heat previously traded away three first-round picks, a swap, and other assets to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, leaving Miami with only one tradable first-round pick. Charania noted the price would be higher than that. With Miami’s roster heavy on veterans and short on Dallas-prized youth, a single-team trade remains unlikely.
