Here's What a $10,000 Investment in TSMC Stock Will Be Worth by 2030
A recent analysis highlights Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) as a long-term bet, describing how a $10,000 investment made five years ago would be worth over $38,000 today and projecting potential gains by 2030. TSMC is the world’s largest semiconductor foundry, manufacturing chips for customers including Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom, as well as electronics brands such as Apple and Sony. While it doesn’t design its own chips, demand for its products spans data centers, vehicles, PCs and smartphones. The article points to TSMC’s expansion beyond pure foundry work into advanced packaging, testing and photomasking under “Foundry 2.0.” It cites Counterpoint Research data showing Foundry 2.0 market revenue rising 25% year over year to $96.6 billion in Q2 and TSMC holding a 42% share, with IDC forecasting the market could exceed $360 billion in 2026.
